Refund Policy

Last updated: October 1, 2026

1. Statutory right of withdrawal for consumers

If you conclude the license contract as a consumer via distance selling, you initially have a statutory right of withdrawal of 14 days from conclusion of the contract. An informal notice (e.g. by email to info@joergbort.dev) before the deadline is sufficient to exercise this right.

As the license constitutes digital content not supplied on a physical medium, you will be expressly asked during the ordering process to consent to the license being provided before the withdrawal period expires; at the same time you confirm that you are aware this means you lose your right of withdrawal. If you give this consent, the right of withdrawal expires early pursuant to § 356 (5) of the German Civil Code (BGB) once provision of the license has begun (see also the Terms of Service, section 8). If you have not given this consent, or the license has not yet been provided, a timely withdrawal will of course be honored and amounts already paid will be refunded promptly, and no later than within 14 days, using the same payment method.

Because consumers lose their right of withdrawal due to the early provision of the license once they have consented to the early provision and provision has begun, no model withdrawal form is provided here.

2. No refunds for business customers (B2B)

If you conclude the contract as a business (§ 14 BGB), you generally have no statutory right of withdrawal. A refund of the license fee is excluded once the license code has been provided (see also the Terms of Service, section 9).

3. Refunds on ongoing contracts (termination)

Regular termination at the end of the current annual term (see Terms of Service, section 5) does not result in a pro-rata refund of license fees already paid for the current period — the most recently delivered software version, however, remains usable indefinitely.

4. How to request a refund

Please contact me informally by email at info@joergbort.dev, stating your name/company name and the order date. Payment processing is handled by our reseller Paddle.com Market Ltd.; after reviewing your request, I initiate the refund through Paddle. The refund is issued via the same method used for the original payment, typically within a few business days.
